This 18th-century hotel is situated in the heart of Bayeux. It is set back from the road, ensuring guests the calmness of the countryside. Free Wi-Fi access is available for 1 device per room.

Very nice hotel
The hotel (which some might say is a large B&B) is an old original building that has been beautifully restored. There is ample parking at the back which more than compensates for the general lack of parking in the town. Staff are very warm, welcoming and accommodating to individual needs. They also speak perfect English.
Anything above ground level is only accessible by stairs which is okay if you're fit. Be prepared for a shortage of plug sockets, no tea or coffee facilities in the rooms and no air conditioning. None of this bothered us but some guests might need to be aware. You need to be able to manage your own luggage up and down the stairs.
The rooms were spotlessly clean but on our final night we did have a problem with a particularly smelly basin outlet. Placing the plug in the hole and an inch or so of water did the trick. Breakfast offered sufficient choices to suit all tastes.
I would definitely return.

Run don’t walk, away from this property
This is a historical property, but starting with the fake flowers out side to the horrible management inside, this is a property you don’t want to book. Small rooms, stairs leading up to the lobby, not set up in the rooms for your electronics. Only one plug. So sorry we even looked at this property

Charming property, there is still work to be done
Charming hotel, noise problems with rooms on the ground floor and the lack of an elevator to reach the quadruple room in the attic with a large suitcase, this should be highlighted at the time of booking. The thing I find unacceptable is that upon our arrival, having a van, we pointed out that we could only park outside, and when we said we had paid for parking in the square in front of the hotel, we were given a little smirk that we understood the next day, since there was a market and our cars were towed. Now, it is up to us to check, but if you ask me how I parked and you work there, you should at the very least warn me. The girls at the morning reception were kinder. Breakfast was nothing special, having tried others at the same price but much more complete.

Lovely, well positioned hotel with lots of charm and great staff!
Wonderful, well situated hotel in a charming former hunting lodge. The hotel staff is superb, they make you feel like family! They also speak very good English. Much more of a B&B experience versus a hotel. We stayed in their biggest room with a king and separate twin beds as we had 5 people in a room. The hotel is walking distance to everything - on Saturday there was a bustling market right across the street. There was a large supermarket within walking distance too. We did do their daily breakfast option and it was scrambled eggs, American style bacon and sausage with pastries, breads and yogurt, juices, coffee and teas. Very on par with what Americans would expect from a continental hot breakfast. You’ll also be greeted by Gloria the house dog!
One thing to consider: we were there during a heatwave and there is no air conditioning (it’s a historic building!) if this is important to you and you are going during the summer, I would say to stay somewhere else. We had ample fans, but it was hot for us Americans! This was our only downside. The other downside is their beds were not the most comfortable.
Overall, the good exceeded the “bad” with this hotel and it was one of our favorite parts of our trip! We would recommend to anyone staying in Bayeux!

June 2026 Visit to Bayeux
This hotel was an excellent base for exploring the D-Day landing beaches and surrounding historic sites. Its location also made it easy to visit the beautiful Bayeux Cathedral and enjoy everything the charming town of Bayeux has to offer. Being able to walk to many of the area's attractions was a real convenience and made our stay even more enjoyable.
What truly made our experience memorable, however, was the exceptional staff. Lisa was especially welcoming and went above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful visit. It was a pleasure meeting her and having the opportunity to discuss the region with a fellow North American. She provided excellent recommendations for local restaurants, attractions, and places to explore, which helped us make the most of our time in the area. Her friendly personality and local knowledge were greatly appreciated.
We also had the pleasure of meeting Gloria on several occasions. She added to the hotel's inviting atmosphere.
Overall, we had a fantastic stay and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable, well-located place to stay while visiting Bayeux and the D-Day region.
