More than 5 stars
If we could rate Riad Ilayka 10 stars, we would. Our room was clean and the attention to details on decorations and toiletries was amazing. Location was perfect, and make sure you get to have your own landmarks going back as they all look the same, but it was great to get lost in the Medina, it will amaze you.
And what makes it perfect for us? It was the team in Riad Ilayka, from the lovely ladies in the kitchen who makes us breakfast and tidying up our room and shopping bags and to the best men in our Riad. Big shout out to the young Abdhul who gave us the heads up on holding him when we were crossing the road and the tour in Ilayka, he made us feel welcome and at home, to the Senior Abdhul who have been welcoming us every breakfast time and checking us back at night, thank you for making us feel safe, Raheem, who walked us back to our airport transfer and served our last breakfast, thank you.

My first visit to Marrakesh was as a solo traveller, and I couldn’t have picked a better place to stay.
Riad Ilayka is a real gem hidden in the Medina. As soon as you step inside, it feels calm and welcoming, while the buzz of Marrakesh is just outside the door.
I arrived earlier than expected, and the staff were incredibly kind and accommodating. After an early start and a long journey, it was much appreciated. They were always happy to help with recommendations, from hammams to places to visit, and their suggestions were spot on. Thanks to them, I visited Jardin Majorelle and the Yves Saint Laurent Museum, which ended up being one of the highlights of my trip.
The riad is beautiful, full of character, and very well looked after. Its location is perfect for exploring the Medina and souks, with everything within easy reach.
As a first-time visitor travelling alone, I was a little nervous before arriving, but those worries quickly disappeared. The friendly and welcoming staff made a big difference and helped make my stay such a positive experience.
I would happily stay here again and would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Marrakesh.

Riad Ilayka was one of my favorite hotels I’ve ever stayed at. The staff was outstanding, and the location in the Medina was perfect. They prepared a delicious breakfast for us each morning and even offered to escort us to dinner at another restaurant on our first night, as well as to an ATM so we could get cash for the weekend. It was a really awesome experience from start to finish. 5/5 stars.
