Fantastic.

What a fantastic experience we had at Flatheim for the closing party with our colleagues! Short trip and organic food that tasted heavenly, surrounded by historic buildings with soul and warmth. Romma was spacious with soft, comfortable beds and a bunch of pillows – a dream to sleep in. The modern baths, coupled with thoughtful details in every corner, made everything feel both exclusive and homely at the same time. A place I would highly recommend!

Lovely heritage accommodation

Accommodation in this small farm is in a lovely position close to the river Gauler on the 613 road. We stayed in a ground floor room in one of the historic houses on the site. The room was tastefully decorated with antique furniture and the attached en-suite bathroom was both spacious and modern with quality toiletries and powerful shower. There is also an attached kitchen shared with other rooms for anyone wishing to self cater.
Breakfast and dinner if requested is served in the oldest house on the site. Both were excellent. A three-course dinner of soup, fried river trout and rhubarb pie was delicious and substantial and the breakfast offers a varied selection of food, much of which comes from the farm. The owner is keen to explain the history of the farm which has been in the family for several generations. The oldest house was dismantled and brought in from another location and is reputably 15th century.
The accommodation is a short walk from Bru Likholefossen where there is a short walk to a bridge over the gushing river Gauler, this also leads to a few hikes in the area.
The scenic drive along the 613 where Flatheim is located is a rewarding one. Formerly the main road south to Bergen, it is now lightly used with the later construction of a faster more direct road but the landscapes are stunning with lots of places to admire the scenery.

Unforgettable!

On a trip to Norway discovers the fjords what a pleasure to stop at Flatheim farm a warm welcome by the housemaster who will be at our care throughout the stay. MAdame's cuisine is local and refined with local products highlighted. The setting is magical. The silence is just clouded by the sound of the river. The room is perfect and cozy a real haven of peace for a long time I had felt this way. If you pass stop but book first there is little room.

Charming accommodation in a unique setting

Flatheim is a special accommodation in a truly unique setting. The location is stunning and the place is very charming, ideal for those looking for a different and authentic experience. The staff is very friendly and attentive, which makes the stay even more welcoming. We stayed in a studio with a lot of character and really enjoyed the atmosphere.
One of the services they offer is the dining option, which is enjoyed in a cabin along with other guests, creating a warm and pleasant atmosphere. However, we found the price somewhat high in relation to the food served.
In general, a highly recommended stay if you are looking for tranquility and a special setting, although dinner could be adjusted more in price or in gastronomic proposal.

Beautiful and cozy Norwegian guesthouse

Very familiar and cozy guest house. In the middle of nature, it is a less touristy area despite having a typically Norwegian enclave between mountains, forests, and waterfalls.
The house has several rooms spread throughout the private land, we had a quadruple room in the attic. The staircase was perhaps a little dangerous to go with children and it was right above the breakfast room, so as soon as the first diners entered, it was impossible to sleep, but it is also true that at 8am the sun and the journey invite you to continue the route. The homemade breakfast with breads, jams, cheeses, cold cuts, eggs, cereals and wonderful local products. The private bathroom for each room is in another space, I missed a hairdryer despite requesting it from a family member.
It has a beautiful walk through the nearby forest and waterfalls to spend a quiet time. It is true that it is remote and does not have restaurants nearby. Shop and gas station about 10-15 minutes by car.
It has been a pleasure to stay in this house, since you know another beautiful area and despite being a little far from your initial route we have enjoyed it. A bit high price, but like everything in this country.
