This stay was the end of a long trip to Spain (Camino de Santiago travel earlier). I needed an inexpensive room for one person to spend the night prior to a flight the next day - it fit my requirements. The area was good with plenty of restaurants and lively night life (which did not interfere with my rest). The location is also very near a metro stop - so, walking and using public transit to the airport is convenient.

Colossal rip-off...

I booked through eDreams flight and a cheap single room for 4 nights. I found myself in an amazing situation: room with only bed, no bedside table, no wardrobe or coat rack. No window, just an opening at the top that looks up the stairs. A fan for ventilation and a folding chair. Not a room but a closet without air: it is disturbing. I ask to change rooms, and the doorman, who's rude, tells me it's not possible. I do not feel like staying and I find an alternative solution in another hotel for the following nights. The next day I go to the desk (!?!) to check out and complain about what happened: I find a sympathetic person who activates and offers me the change of room which was not possible before. Too bad I already paid for another solution. Conclusion: stay away from Flatt55madrid which on the site presents decent housing and does not correspond to reality '. The same structure comes with different names and entities '. on the same front door; a real scam to have booked and paid in advance with eDreams for which no refund is possible... and were not worth the complaints. However The location is strategic
and a few meters away you will find an excellent 3 star hotel at competitive prices ... I recommend it!!!

If you're travelling on a budget I would recommend this accommodation. I stayed in a single room with shared bathroom. The accommodation was clean and comfortable, though the room was very small - just enough room for a single bed and very small bedside table ... but it did have a TV. The shared bathroom was clean with plenty of hot water and good water pressure, though the shower cubicle is very small. As a lone traveller I felt safe there (5th floor and plenty of locked doors). My only gripe with the room was that it had no window to the outside - there was a 'window' which opened to the stairwell/lift and there was a lot of noise from this area until quite late at night. The location is good - a 5-10 minute walk to Gran Via, about 20 minute walk to the Plaza Mayor - with quite a few places to eat and small shops for snacks and beverages close by. Staff were friendly, though I didn't really require their services as only there for a few days.

The walls are super thin, all the noise from the neighboring room was perceived as if I had the tenant in my room, who spent the whole night listening to TikToks
